Boone 8, Smith-Cotton 2
The Tigers were tied at one with Boone before allowing seven runs in the fifth in an 8-2 loss to Boone at the Florida League High School Invitational.
Boone starter Jacob Burr allowed two runs on three hits in 6.1 innings.
Jayce Simoncic was relieved by Tyler Abney in the fifth with two outs and the bases loaded.
Chase Plymell scored on a Baxter Mays single in the seventh.
Smith-Cotton plays Clewiston High School today at 4:30 p.m. in bracket play.
Central Missouri 7, Missouri Southern 6
The Lions and Jennies scored six runs apiece entering the third inning Tuesday in Warrensburg. Central Missouri’s go-ahead run was scored in the bottom of that frame in a 7-6 victory over Missouri Southern.
Allison Tonyan allowed six runs on nine hits pitching a complete game for UCM.
Katie Giacone scored the winning run on a Makayla Schoonover groundout.
Central Missouri 10, Missouri Southern 6
The Jennies outslugged Missouri Southern in game two of Tuesday’s doubleheader by a score of 10-6.
Lauren Mabe and Allie Dishinger homered for Central Missouri and combined for six RBIs.
Mabe’s home run was a grand slam to break a 4-4 tie in the third inning.
The Jennies (18-14, MIAA 7-3) travel to Bolivar to face Southwest Baptist in a doubleheader Friday. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Missouri 6, Northern Iowa 0
The No. 15-ranked Tigers shutout UNI 6-0 Tuesday in Columbia.
Danielle Baumgartner (10-1) picked up the win allowing one hit and two walks. Paige Lowary and Cheyanne Baxter limited the Panthers to two baserunners.
Missouri softball is 3-0 at home. In that time, the Tigers pitching staff has allowed zero runs in 21.0 innings.
The Tigers (23-4, 2-1 SEC) face Alabama on the road for a 3-game series. Game one is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday.
LATE TUESDAY RESULTS
Smith-Cotton 2, Moberly 0
Two Jessica Coble goals lifted the Lady Tigers over Moberly 2-0 on the road. Smith-Cotton hosts Center tonight at 5 p.m.
Junior varsity also defeated Moberly by a score of 10-0.

Lincoln 13, Lakeland 0 F/5
Corbin Mertgen tossed five innings of 1-hit baseball in a 13-0 Lincoln victory Tuesday at Lakeland.
Mertgen struck out eight and walked three.
Derek Stephens had a 3-run homer to lead a Cardinal offense that collected 12 hits.
Lincoln hosts Leeton w/ Chilhowee tonight at 5 p.m.
