Smith-Cotton golf eighth at Columbia Classic

The Tigers tied for eighth with a 335 team total of Monday at the Columbia Classic.

Jackson Kempton was the low man for Smith-Cotton, firing a 79.

Kendall Weymuth shot an 84, with Jarod Rosenbacker a stroke behind. Jordon Hockaday fired an 87.

Rock Bridge earned the top finish with a team score of 298.

S-C girls 3rd, boys 8th at Blue Valley Spring Invite

The Smith-Cotton girl’s track and field program finished third Friday at the Blue Valley Spring Classic. The boy’s team finished eighth.

Saige Peterson finished second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1 minute 4.11 seconds. Monique Grant earned a second-place finish in the 100m with a time of 12.54 seconds. Mebeka Nash took fourth at 12.88 seconds.

Grant was also second in the 200m at 26.26 seconds. Grant finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 16-2 1/4.

Nash took fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 96-8 1/2.

Keoni Hale took home first in the high jump with a mark of 6-4. He was third in long jump with a mark of 21-2 1/2.

Corey Bond was third in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.19 seconds.

Jack Marsh finished fifth in shot put with a throw of 43-2 3/4.



Smith-Cotton 7, O’Hara 0

The Lady Tigers shut out O’Hara on the road Monday, 7-0.

Brianna Pollitt had a hat trick.

Marilyn Ream scored two goals and two assists, while Jessica Coble and Jill Vansell scored one goal apiece.

Junior varsity defeated O’Hara 9-0 behind four goals from Marta Treuner, a hat trick from Reagan Hockett and two from Taylor Beebe.


La Monte 22, Kingsville 1

La Monte stayed undefeated against Kingsville on the road Monday.

Vada DeMotte hit two doubles and two singles going 4-for-4 with 2 RBIs.

Madison Harris struck out 10 and allowed two walks and hits apiece.
