Lincoln golf places second at Osage

Lincoln golf finished eight strokes behind Blair Oaks with a team score of 168 to finish runner-up.

Osage followed at 181, and Hallsville fired a 243.

Blair Oaks’ Tanner Elder was the field’s low man, shooting a 35. Lincoln’s Boone Kroenke was runner-up four strokes behind.

Tyler and Trevor Kroenke shot a 45, Cody Gregory finished with a 47, and Aaron Kranz fired a 49.



St. Pius X 6, Smith-Cotton 2

The Lady Tigers (5-1, 2-1 WCC) suffered their first loss of the season 6-2 at the hands of St. Pius X.

Marilyn Ream and Jessica Coble scored for Smith-Cotton. Ream and Maddie Davidson added the assists.

Junior varsity remained undefeated with a 3-1 win. Taylor Beebe scored twice and Marta Treuner scored once.


La Monte 18, Windsor 8

The Lady Vikings trailed after a Windsor 4-run first inning, but stormed back for an 18-8 victory.

Maleiah Parker started a rally in the second with a leadoff single. La Monte batted around to score eight runs in that frame.

Windsor scored four more runs in the fifth inning.


Pilot Grove 2, Jamestown 1

Brady Rentel went the distance and struck out nine in a 2-1 victory Monday over Jamestown.

Regan Meisenheimer earned both RBIs for Pilot Grove, scoring in the third and fifth innings.

Jamestown starting pitcher Garrett Wolfe struck out ten in six innings.

Sacred Heart 8, Smithton 3

The Gremlins scored five runs to break a 3-3 tie in the seventh and seal a road victory over Smithton.

Sacred Heart starter Easton Webb pitched six innings, striking out seven and allowing three runs. He also went 2-4 with a single, double and three RBIs.

Sacred Heart is now 5-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play.



Smith-Cotton defeated Nevada 8-1 on the road Tuesday.

In singles, David Cho defeated Nathan McCall 8-2, Jacob Hedrick defeated Jordan Sheehy 8-5, Mikhail Husyev defeated Jace Lanham 7-9, Matthew Tilley defeated Matt Sommer 8-8 (4), Keron Irwin defeated Sheel Patel 8-4 and Ryan Hankins defeated Vasantgiri Goswami 8-5

In doubles,

David Cho and Matthew Tilley defeated Nathan McCall and Jace Lanham 8-6, Jacob Hedrick and Mikhail Husyev defeated Jordan Sheehy and Matt Sommer 8-6 and Keron Irwin and Ryan Hankins defeated Sheel Patel and Vasantgiri Goswami 8-1.
