SEDALIA— State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners sophomore guard Zhanesha Dickerson has signed to play basketball at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, a Division II school. She was recruited by former Lady Roadrunners Assistant Coach Jordan Greenleaf.

Dickerson closed out a successful two-year career at SFCC, leading the Lady Roadrunners to a 22-8 record this past season.

“She’s going to be an outstanding player at the Division II level,” Lady Roadrunners head basketball coach Kevin Bucher said. “Zhanesha will flourish and continue to develop her ability to play inside and outside. I know the coaches at Arkansas-Fort Smith are eager to have her join their team.”

The St. Louis native earned All-Region 16 first-team honors as a sophomore and helped lead the team to a Region 16 tournament championship. Dickerson led the team in scoring, averaging 11.9 points per game, and pulled down a team-high 6.3 rebounds per contest. She shot 69.2 percent from the free-throw line and earned Missouri Community College Athletic Conference (MCCAC) first-team honors as a sophomore.

As a freshman Dickerson helped the team to a 23-6 record. She finished third in scoring with 13.3 points per game and shot 45.2 percent from the three-point line. Dickerson finished second on the team in rebounds with seven per game and earned All-Region 16 first-team and MCCAC All-Conference first-team honors.

“It has been a pleasure having Zhanesha in our program,” Bucher said. “Now she moves on to a bigger stage, and we’ll get to watch her progress.”
