Smith-Cotton baseball will have to wait another day in pursuit of a district championship. Rain postponed a 7:30 p.m. Monday game to 7 p.m. today against Jefferson City at Battle High School in Columbia.

The Tigers were not the only team undone by rain Monday. Sacred Heart, hosting the Class 1 District 7 soccer tournament postponed opening-round matches one day. Summit Christian Academy hosts Lone Jack at Clover Dell Park in Sedalia at 5 p.m., followed by Sacred Heart and St. Paul Lutheran at 7 p.m.

Sacred Heart baseball’s district semifinal game against Windsor at Skyline High School in Urbana, Missouri was postponed to tonight at 7:30 p.m. Top-seeded Lincoln hosts Skyline at 4:30 p.m. after a daylong delay.

Another local postseason competition disrupted by rain was the Class 1 State golf tournament at Freemont Hills Country Club in Nixa, Missouri. Rain suspended the contest where Lincoln, competing as a team, have between one to five holes to play to complete the first round according to coach Adam Curtis. No second round is scheduled. The tournament resumes at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
