KNOB NOSTER, MO (May 23, 2016) – Knob Noster Senior Myron Lucas DeBerry Jr. signed Monday, May 23, 2016 a letter of intent to run hurdles and jump at Avila University Kansas City, Missouri. Myron is a 4-year lettermen for the Knob Noster Panthers Track Team. In his high school career he has competed in the district and sectional track tournaments three years.

Myron said in reflection of his high school track career, -“Track has been an influential and positive part of my life. It has taught me to not only rely on myself and teammates, but has also taught me how to battle through all types of adversity and to preserve and strive for greatness.”

He plans to obtain a four-year degree in Kinesiology while attending Avila and running

State Fair Speedway adds A-Mods to lineup

The Missouri State Fair Speedway announced Friday the addition of A-Mods to the ASCS National Tour Sprint Car Series event scheduled June 17 in Sedalia.

Friday’s addition of A-Mods comes one day after the WAR Sprint Series pulled out of the event in June, citing vehicle safety concerns. The race is $1,000 to win and $150 to start.

MAV-TV will provide live broadcast coverage of the event June 17 as the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Series and Warrior Region continue the Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek June 15-19.

Hot laps are scheduled for 7 p.m. and racing begins at 8 p.m.

Smithton opened their Zone 2 league play this week and went 0-4 on the week after a pair of losses to Post 21 Independence.

The Storm trailed 5-2 in the seventh before rallying for five runs. Smithton’s lead slipped away in the seventh, and Independence won the game in the third extra inning.
