S-C soccer players earn on All-District, Region honors

Recently named West Central Conference Co-Defender of the Year, Peyton Sharp takes a free kick during Smith-Cotton’s 3-2 Senior Night victory over St. Pius X at Susie Ditzfeld Memorial Soccer Complex. Sharp was named first-team All-District with Maddie Davidson.


The Smith-Cotton Lady Tigers earned four spots on the All-District team and two on the All-Region soccer list.

Peyton Sharp, named West Central Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year and Academic All-State, joined Maddie Davidson on the All-District first-team.

Davidson was named All-Region with teammate Marilyn Ream.

Ream and Kiara Williams earned second-team All-District honors.

The Lady Tigers finished with a 15-8-1 record and were co-champions of the conference (9-1) with St. Pius X.

Cardinals and Royals on TV

The St. Louis Cardinals game Friday at the Pittsburgh Pirates will be broadcast on Fox Sports Midwest at 6:05 p.m. and on the MLB Network for out-of-market customers.

Fox Sports Kansas City will broadcast the Kansas City Royals at the Chicago White Sox at 7:10 p.m.
