The Rick Ball Ford Juniors swept Odessa on Saturday to win the district championship, winning the first game 19-0 and the second 15-0.
In game one, no Odessa player reached base in three innings against Kaleb Bishop. Bishop struck out five and did not allow a single ball hit out of the infield.
At the plate, the Juniors scored 14 runs in the second inning to break the game open.
Derek Bivins had three hits including a triple. Tyler Abney reached base four times, drawing a pair of walks, hitting a single and being hit by a pitch. Connor Harms had a pair of singles.
Corbin Mertgen allowed one hit and one walk in the win in game two.
The Juniors scored two in the first, then added five in the second and eight more in the third. Chase Hagle, Bivins and Corbin Reese each had a pair of hits.
The Juniors will wait to see who their next opponent will be. They will play in Blue Springs at 8 p.m. Thursday.
The Junior Bombers went 2-2 at the Springfield Catholic Varsity Festival.
Saturday, the Junior Bombers beat Rolla 10-2 as Jayce Simoncic pitched four innings and allowed one unearned run and three hits. Chance Spangler pitched two innings and Seth Fraley one inning in relief.
Ryan Wood drove in three runs on two hits and Ben Smeltzer drove in two.
The Junior Bombers lost 10-2 to Springfield Catholic Saturday night.
On Sunday, the Junior Bombers fell 3-1 to Clever before beating Parkview 11-0 in five innings.
Spangler earned the win, allowing three hits. Sam Kindle allowed one hit and drove in three runs.
