Tipton 26, Windsor 12

The Cardinals (1-3) picked up its first win of the season Thursday hosting Windsor.

Windsor, who retained the Greyhound Trophy over Sweet Springs in week one, have lost two straight since. The Greyhounds have not defeated Tipton since 1997.

GIRL’S TENNIS

Smith-Cotton 6, O’Hara 3

The Lady Tigers tennis team notched another West Central Conference win as Smith-Cotton defeated O’Hara on Thursday, 6-3.

S-C’s top four players — Elizabeth Matz, Rachael Meyer, Allison Burton and Kali Heavener — went unbeaten on the night, each winning their singles match and the teams of Matz-Heavener and Meyer-Burton winning in doubles.

“I’m proud of the girls,” said S-C Coach Christine Ross. “They won some tough, close matches. They continued to battle and did not give up.”

The Lady Tigers are now 3-2 on the season, and 2-0 in WCC play.

The Smith-Cotton JV girls tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision to O’Hara on Thursday.

Earning wins for S-C were Jessica Kotok at No. 2 singles and Maria Aonzo at No. 3 singles. Aonzo teamed with Suzy Arnwine and got a win at No. 2 singles, with Alexis Gardner and Elissa Petrashishina winning at No. 3 doubles.

BOY’S SOCCER

Cole Camp 3, Osage 1

The Bluebirds scored twice in the first half and added a goal late during a 3-1 home victory over Osage.

Welton Vo-Smith opened the scoring for Cole Camp and Zach Deibel scored the Osage equalizer. Nikolay Timoshchuk gave Cole Camp a 2-1 lead a halftime and scored again in the second half.

COLLEGE WOMEN’S SOCCER

LATE WEDNESDAY RESULTS

Kaskaskia College 2, State Fair Lady Roadrunners 1

After a scoreless first half, State Fair dropped a match at Kaskaskia College in Illinois, 2-1.

Kaskaskia scored in the 54th and 65th minutes. Kristen Farrell, on an assist from Morgan Coffman scored the lone SFCC goal with 12 minutes left to play.

LATE WEDNESDAY RESULTS

Lady Gremlins win tri-match in Eugene

Claire Sobaski carded a 44 to claim medalist in a Sacred Heart tri-match victory Wednesday in Eugene.

Abby Smeltzer was runner-up with a score of 49. Noelle Sunnarborg and Julianna Bourgeret shot a 55 and Anjanae Williams finished with a 58.

Sacred Heart shot 203 as a team. Eugene finished at 223 and Crocker shot a 258.

HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL

The Smith-Cotton softball team lost, 11-1, Thursday at Warrensburg. The Lady Tigers are now 1-8 on the season.

The S-C JV squad also lost, 13-3.
