16 schools meet at Sacred Heart Invitational

St. Pius X was first, Summit Christian Academy was second and Warrensburg placed third at the Sacred Heart Invitational at the Sedalia Country Club in Sedalia on Monday.

The Warriors totaled 332 as co-medalist Cole Elling praced the group with a 76. Tipton’s Tristan Bolin matched Elling for co-medalist honors.

Summit Christian Academy shot 337 and Warrensburg finished one stroke behind.

Tipton tied Clinton for sixth, firing 374 as a team.

The Gremlins and Cole Camp had identical team scores of 434. Ty Wissman led Sacred Heart at 96, and Brady Smith paced Cole Camp with a 93.

Smith-Cotton 7th at Helias Invitational

Jerod Rosenbacker led Smith-Cotton with a top-10 card score of 78 Monday during the Helias Invitational at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield. The Tigers placed seventh among the 10-team field, which was conquered by Rock Bridge.

Jackson Kempton followed Rosenbacker with an 86. Kendall Weymuth fired an 88, Zach Morrison shot an 89 and Tyler Thompson carded a 91.

Colton Johannes pitched a winner for Stover on Monday during a 6-2 victory hosting Sacred Heart.

Dylan Hayden took the loss for the Gremlins. Nolan Walker finished with two hits.
