By SFCC Athletics

State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners sophomore guard Alexis Cowan has been named a Third-Team All-American by the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee. It is the 14th time a Lady Roadrunner has received the honor.

“Alexis was one of our leaders this year,” said head coach Kevin Bucher. “When we needed someone to step up and perform, Alexis was always there. She has had two good years here. I’m happy that she was named an All-American.”

Cowan, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, started all 28 games and helped the Lady Roadrunners to a 19-9 record this season. This season, Cowan earned NJCAA Region 16 First-Team honors and was named Player of the Week twice by Region 16 coaches. She also was named to the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball All-Conference First-Team.
