Big second inning leads Pilot Grove baseball past Otterville

Pilot Grove scored 17 runs in the top of the second and beat Otterville 17-7 on Thursday in Otterville.

The Eagles got on the board with five in the third and added two more in the fifth.

Jon Gerke pitched two innings for the Tigers and allowed no hits, striking out four. Austin Hammond pitched three innings and allowed four hits, striking out seven.

Brady Rentel had three hits including two home runs for Pilot Grove. Isaac Lorenz, Jacob Twenter, Grant Vollrath and Austin Kollmeyer each doubled.

Jake Neal, Garrett Lynn, Trent White and Cody Evans all had hits for the Eagles.
