The Smith-Cotton tennis team picked up its first win of the Christine Ross era, beating Center 7-2 on Thursday at the Liberty Park Courts.
Rachel Meyers and Kali Heavener pulled out a close win at No. 3 doubles, winning 9-8.
Elizabeth Matz beat Allie Welch 8-3 at No. 1 singles. Allison Burton won her No. 2 singles match 8-1 over Sandy Saffold. At No. 5 singles, Heavener beat Kyra Woods 8-3. Meyers won 8-2 at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, Matz and Burton won 8-2 and Reedy and Alonzo 8-3.
Flo Alonzo fell 9-8 to Josephina Esparza at No. 4 singles and Nicole Reedy fell 8-3 to Cydney Slade at No. 3 singles.
Smith-Cotton’s junior varsity won 4-0.
