S-C volleyball has top seed for districts

Smith-Cotton has the No. 1 seed in the Class 4, District 9 volleyball tournament next week at Troy Buchanan.

The Lady Tigers have a bye and will face either Hannibal or Tory Buchanan on Oct. 20 at 5 p.m.

The other side of the bracket has Rock Bridge taking on Jefferson City and Battle facing Hickman.

Sacred Heart will host the Class 1, District 10 tournament.

The Gremlins face conference rival Lincoln on Monday. The winner will face Green Ridge on Oct. 20 in the semifinal. On the other side of the bracket, Northwest will face La Monte. The winner will face Stover.

In Class 1, District 9 at Calvary Lutheran, Smithton will take on Bunceton in the first round on Monday. The winner of that game will face either Calvary Lutheran or the Missouri School for the Deaf. On the other side of the bracket, Otterville will face Chamois. The winner will face New Haven.

In Class 1, District 14 at Santa Fe, Sweet Springs will face Wellington-Napoleon in the first round. The winner will take on Santa Fe. Crest Ridge will play Wentworth with the winner facing Concordia.

In Class 2, District 13 at Windsor, Knob Noster will face Butler in the first round. The winner of that game will take on Holden. On the other side of the bracket, the host Lady Greyhounds will take on Adrian. Cole Camp will face Sherwood.

The semifinals and finals of that district will be on Oct. 21.

In Class 2, District 7 at Father Tolton, Tipton will face the host Blazers in the first round. The winner will face either Eugene or Hallsville. North Callaway takes on Russellville with the winner taking on Fatima.

In Class 3, District 11 at Harrisonville, the Warsaw Lady Wildcats draw Nevada in the first round. The winner will face the winner of Warrensburg and Clinton. The other side of the bracket has O’Hara taking on Harrisonville with the winner facing Pleasant Hill.
