The Smith-Cotton volleyball teams has three players named first-team all-district in Class 4, District 9.

Seniors Bailey Curry, Montana Hedrick and Courtney Koetting were honored after leading the Lady Tigers to a district title for the first time since 1979. Curry, Hedrick and Koetting have each earned first-team all-district awards in the past. The trio has a combined for 612 kills, 123 aces, 730 digs, 474 points, 61 blocks, 430 assists and a pass rating of 2.12. In addition, Koetting holds the Smith-Cotton school records for career assists with 1,464 and aces in a season with 70, set in 2013.

The three were also Academic All-State.

“These three ladies have been leaders on and off the court,” said Smith-Cotton coach Darcia Koetting. “They have put in a lot of work for their team the past four years. The girls, along with their teammates, were able to achieve their goals of winning both a district and a conference title. In addition, they have set a record number of wins for their school. Their leadership and work ethic paid off this season. Having players as well-rounded in all aspects of the game has proven to be beneficial to the success of Smith-Cotton’s volleyball program.”
