Head Coach: Kevin Matz, second year at La Monte

2014-15 record: 4-21, 2-3 Mid-State, 1-8 Kaysinger

Who’s back: Tristan Hackworth, senior guard; Trevor Ulm, senior forward; Alejandro Garcia, junior forward, Charlie Fletcher, sophomore guard; Antonio Villagomez, sophomore guard

Who’s new: Cole Cave, freshman center; Cole Scott, freshman guard; Kyle Chaney, sophomore guard

Who’s gone: Juan Barajas, Logan Rieckhoff, Zack Warner, Carlos Cardenas

Outlook: With an athletic roster, coach Kevin Matz will be pushing the tempo in La Monte. He said he saw a lot of hard work from his players in the off-season and they are more comfortable running the system now in year two.

Though the Vikings lack in size, they do have Trevor Ulm providing some strength in the low post. Tristan Hackworth is also back this season and can jump-start the offense either on the perimeter or by driving. The Vikings can also get 3-point shooting from Antonio Villagomez.
