Head Coach: Donnie Mayes, second year at La Monte

2014-15: 18-12, 6-0 Mid-State, 4-6 Kaysinger, District champions

Who’s back: Sandra Arroyo, averaged five steals per game; Vada DeMotte; Madison Harris, averaged 10 ppg; Katie Patrick; Erin Warner; Rocio Rodriguez; Maya Martin; Kameron Morton; Mikayla Griffin

Who’s new: Jennifer Garcia, Alicia Davis, Maleiah Mugg, Julianna Cardenas, Alexis Rodriguez

Who’s gone: Cathy Butts

Outlook: A strong senior class with a high basketball IQ highlights the Lady Vikings’ second season under Donnie Mayes. La Monte brings back most of the players from last season’s district championship team. Though they do have to try to find a replacement for the graduated Cathy Butts, the Lady Vikings have Erin Warner who showed a lot of improvement the second half of last season, as well as Sandra Arroyo, Katie Patrick, Vada DeMotte and Madison Harris.

Five of La Monte’s eight Kaysinger losses last season were by 11 points or fewer, including a 50-48 loss to Windsor.
