The Smith-Cotton wrestling program had its annual Black & Gold scrimmage Tuesday night in the high school gym. The scrimmage is a chance for wrestlers to get in some active mat time and for parents and students to get to meet the team.

After the scrimmage, Tigers Head Coach Charlie McFail said: “The young kids were able to get some live mat experience and they showed their fighting Tiger spirit. We are looking forward to some great wrestling from our younger guys. The older guys were able to work on their technique in a live setting and showed that they are ready to get the season going.”

The varsity team will compete Saturday at Grain Valley, while the JV will be at Blue Springs.
