After the Gremlins’ first season of playing eight-man football, eight members of the 2015 Sacred Heart football team were recognized by the 8-man District 4 coaches for their efforts with All-District honors.

The Gremlins had players named to first team and second team for both offense and defense, along with an honorable mention, with some players being named to multiple teams due to dual positions.

“We had some key injuries early in the season that forced some younger players into action sooner than expected, but overall we are very pleased with the 2015 season and the bright outlook going into the 2016 season,” Gremlins coach Ben Lyles said. “The players being recognized by the opposing coaches is a special honor not only for the players selected, but also for all our players, parents and coaches. I am sure each player selected would give thanks to all their teammates as well.”

Quarterback Trent Lyles, running back RaeQuan Williams and wide receiver Micah Tanguay were all named to First Team offense. Trent Lyles also landed himself on First Team defense as defensive back along with defensive lineman David Moreno.

Second Team offense includes running back Nicolas Cashman, offensive lineman Jake Smothers, offensive lineman Moreno and kicker Chris Mergen. Linebacker Nicolas Cashman, defensive back Williams and returner Trent Lyles were named to Second Team defense.

Offensive lineman Ty Wissman received an honorable mention.
