Windsor got a fourth quarter rally and a layup at the end of regulation to force overtime, then came out strong in the extra period to beat Richmond 59-54 in the semifinal of the Higginsville Tournament on Thursday.

Richmond led by 10 for much of the second half before the Greyhoudns rallied. Trenton Johnson hit a layup at the end of regulation to tie the game 48-48.

Johnson finished with 30 points. Josh Nichols added 15.

Windsor (4-2) will face Higginsville for the championship at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Tipton 53, Cole Camp 46

The Tipton girls basketball team held off Cole Camp 53-46 on Thursday.

The Cardinals jumped out to an 18-4 lead and led 27-20 at halftime.

Destiny Dowell had 27 points to lead Tipton. 10 steals and five assists. It was the second straight game in which Dowell grabbed 10 steals. Eldringhof had 14 points. Amy Martin had 13 rebounds.

Kameron Shearer had 13 points for the Bluebirds

Tipton (4-3, 2-0) will face Versailles on Tuesday.

Cole Camp (4-2, 1-1 Kaysinger) will visit St. Paul on Monday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Stover 50, Pilot Grove 29

Stover knocked off Pilot Grove 50-29 on Wednesday in the Pilot Grove Tiger Classic.

Mallory Uptegrove led the Lady Bulldogs with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Jensen Bauer added 12 points.

In other tournament action, Prairie Home beat Northwest 70-14 in girls basketball.

In the boys tournament, Prairie Home beat Northwest 68-67 and Pilot Grove beat Stover 74-57.

The Lady Bulldogs (3-1) will play Northwest on Saturday.

La Monte 49, Kingsville 17

La Monte beat Kingsville 49-17 in the second round of the Mid-State Tournament on Wednesday.

Madison Harris had 17 points to lead the Lady Vikings. Katie Patrick added 10 for a La Monte team which shot 45 percent from the floor. Rocio Rodriguez pulled down nine rebounds.

La Monte will face Leeton in the tournament championship at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Wentworth 41, La Monte 26

La Monte lost 41-26 to Wentworth in the Mid-State Tournament on Wednesday.

Alejandro Garcia had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Vikings.
