Lady Roadrunners fall in Battle on the Border opener

The State Fair Lady Roadrunner fell to Northern Oklahoma-Enid 60-58 on Friday to open the Battle on the Border in Joplin.

SFCC shot 29 percent from the field in the first half and trailed by as many as 18 before rallying to cut into the lead in the second half. The Lady Roadrunners outscored NOC-Enid 19-8 in the third quarter and 17-14 in the fourth but could never take the lead.

Danae’ Cole led State Fair with 11 points. Thelma Williams added 10. Alexis Cowan had eight points and nine rebounds.

Rylie Torrey led NOC-Enid with 30 points.

State Fair (12-2) will face Northeastern Oklahoma at 4 p.m. Saturday.
