The Smith-Cotton Tigers fell in overtime to St. Pius X 51-48 on Monday.

SPX tied the game with free throws at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime where the Warriors pulled out the win.

Dante Scroggins led S-C with 25 points.

Lucas Salinas led the Warriors with 17

Smith-Cotton won the junior varsity game 44-32. Zach Gwaltney led the Tigers with 13 points. Michael Ballance and Derek Gehlken each scored six.

Smith-Cotton (7-2, 1-2 WCC) will host O’Hara on Jan. 8.

Osceola 50, Lincoln 45

Osceola rallied in the second half to beat Lincoln on Monday.

The Cardinals led 29-27 at halftime but the Indians outscored them 23-16 in the second half.

Lincoln will face Concordia on Monday in the W-K Shootout.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

St. Pius X 56, Smith-Cotton 25

The Smith-Cotton girls basketball team fell 56-25 to St. Pius X on Monday.

S-C fell behind 15-4 after one and 29-13 at halftime.

Monique Grant led the Lady Tigers with eight points. Kiara Williams and Nia Hawkins each scored six.

Smith-Cotton (2-7, 1-2 WCC) will open the Rolla Tournament at 3 p.m. Monday against Waynesville. The Lady Tigers will then play either Rolla or St. Clair on Tuesday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Chilhowee 75, La Monte 44

La Monte fell to Mid-State Conference rival Chilhowee 75-44 on Friday at the W-K Shootout.

Gavin Johnson led the Vikings with 10 points. Tristan Hackworth and Charlie Fletcher each had seven. Kieran Rich and Alejandro Garcia grabbed six rebounds.
