Lincoln opened the 21st annual Holiday Classic with a 77-41 win over Slater on Monday.

The Cardinals were sluggish and struggled to shoot the ball in the second quarter but Boone Kroenke caught fire in the third and Lincoln turned what had been a 38-26 halftime lead into a 63-37 lead after three.

Kroenke finished with 28 points. Mason Sanders added 15. Ryan Eckhoff added eight points, Trevor Kroenke had seven and Connor Spunaugle added five.

Lincoln (8-3) will face Prairie Home at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Santa Fe 68, Knob Noster 32

The Knob Noster Lady Panthers opened the Lafayette County Tournament with a 68-32 loss to Santa Fe on Monday.

Santa Fe raced out to an 18-9 lead after one quarter and led 43-15 at halftime.

Jessica Yates led Knob Noster with 15 points. Jessica Sader added 10.

Knob Noster (0-9) will continue the tournament at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Concordia against either Lexington or Concordia.

Cole Camp 61, Jamestown 47

The Cole Camp girls basketball team opened the Stover Tournament on Monday with a 61-47 win over the No. 5 ranked team in the state in Class 1, Jamestown.

Cole Camp led 18-11 after one quarter and outscored Jamestown 20-11 in the second.

Bailey Heimsoth had 20 points to lead the Bluebirds. Alyssa Oelrichs had 10 points and Maddi Cook added nine.

Mickayla Strother scored 18 for Jamestown.

Cole Camp will face Tuscumbia at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Tuscumbia beat Laquey 68-35.

Stoutland 64, Green Ridge 28

Green Ridge fell 64-28 to No. 1 seed Stoutland in the first round of the Stover Tournament on Monday.

Alexa Willard had 31 points to lead Stoutland.

Katie Gibbs scored nine points for the Lady Tigers.

Green Ridge will face Holden at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Stover 34, Holden 28

Stover beat Holden 34-28 to open the Stover Tournament.

Mallory Uptegrove scored 21 points for the Lady Bulldogs.

Dani Kilgore scored 12 for Holden.

Stover will face Stoutland at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Tipton 70, Bunceton 16

Tipton opened the New Franklin Tournament with a 70-16 win over Bunceton on Monday.

The Cardinals led at halftime 35-7.

Destiny Dowell had 24 points, seven steals and six assists. Brooklyn Pace had 20 points and seven rebounds.

Tipton will face New Franklin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

New Franklin 43, Pilot Grove 42

No. 5 seed Pilot Grove was edged by No. 4 seed New Franklin 43-42 in the first round of the New Franklin Tournament on Monday.

Emily Schupp had 11 points for the Lady Tigers.

Otterville 57, Northwest 35

Otterville beat Northwest 57-35 on Monday in the Holiday Classic.

The Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Mustangs 19-10 in second quarter to break what had been a 12-12 tie after one.

Dalanney Stone scored 17 for Otterville. Albina Oleynik added 12. Natalie Schoen scored 10.

Otterville will face Slater at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Northwest will face Slater at6:30 p.m. Thursday.
