A late Green Ridge rally fell short as the Tigers lost 51-44 to Russellville in the consolation semifinal of the Stover Tournament on Thursday.

The Tigers trailed by 13 late in the fourth before turnovers and layups brought them to within six but they could not get any closer.

Ryan Dove finished with 25 points for Green Ridge.

Dylan Henderson led Russellville with 17.

Green Ridge will play in the seventh-place game at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Versailles 70, Warsaw 39

Versailles beat Warsaw 70-39 on Thursday in the seventh-place game of the Tri-County Conference Tournament.

Matt Luebbert scored 15 points for the Wildcats to go with eight rebounds and three steals.

Warsaw (1-10) will face Skyline on Monday in the Skyline Tournament.

Otterville Tournament

Facing possible bad weather, the Otterville Holiday Classic has altered its schedule.

The boys and girls championship games have been moved from Saturday to Friday. Lincoln is playing Smithton in the boys championship game at 8 p.m. The girls championship game between Otterville and Prairie Home will tip off at 6:30 p.m. with the boys third-place game between Otterville and Prairie Home at 5 p.m.

Boys and girls fifth-place games and the girls third-place games are still scheduled for Saturday, beginning at noon. Smithton will play Northwest for fifth-place in the girls tournament. In the boys fifth-place game at 1:30 p.m., Northwest will face Slater. In the girls third-place game at 3 p.m., Lincoln will take on Slater.

Otterville 73, Northwest 52

Otterville beat Northwest 73-52 on Thursday in the Holiday Classic.

With the win, the Eagles claim second-place in pool play and will play for third on Friday.

Franklin Oswald scored 23 points. Jake Neal added 14.

Connor Tichenor led the Mustangs with 16 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Prairie Home 65, Smithton 18

Smithton lost 65-18 in the Otterville Holiday Classic on Thursday.

Prairie Home jumped out to an 18-4 lead after one quarter and 36-8 at halftime.

Rebecca White scored four points for the Lady Tigers.

Smithton will play Northwest at noon Saturday for fifth place.

Slater 50, Northwest 25

Northwest fell to Slater 50-25 on Thursday to close out pool play in the Holiday Classic.

Hannah Gregory led the Lady Mustangs with 10 points.

Windsor 58, Kingsville 41

Windsor came back in the second half to beat Kingsville 58-41 on Thursday in Windsor.

Kingsville jumped out to an 11-0 lead, led 12-3 after one quarter and 25-18 at halftime before the Lady Greyhounds rallied. Windsor outscored Kingsille 12-4 in the third quarter and 28-12 in the fourth.

“We made our layups,” said Windsor coach Brad Forrest. “Defensively we clamped down.”

Carmyn Johnson scored 10 points, all in the second half. Devyn Williams and Dharma Gilmore each scored eight. Williams also had 14 rebounds and seven assists. Windsor didn’t miss a free throw in the fourth quarter.

Windsor (3-9) will host Leeton on Friday.

Late Wednesday

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Pilot Grove 72, Bunceton 40

Pilot Grove beat Bunceton 72-40 on Wednesday in the consolation semifinal of the New Franklin Tournament.

Emily Schupp led the Lady Tigers with 20 points and 11 steals.

Pilot Grove (6-5) will play Sweet Springs on Friday.

Holden 53, Green Ridge 22

Green Ridge fell to Holden 53-22 in the consolation semifinal of the Stover Tournament on Wednesday.

Maddy Barnes and Bailey Harding each scored six for the Lady Tigers.

Green Ridge will face Laquey in the seventh-place game at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
