Windsor defeats Leeton

BOYS BASKETBALL

Windsor 79, Leeton 75

The Windsor Greyhounds defeated Leeton 79-75 in a home contest late Friday.

Jakob Erdmann led Windsor with 23 and Trenton Johnson added 18.

STOVER TOURNAMENT GAMES RESCHEDULED

The finals of the Stover Tournment which were postponed Saturday due to inclement weather have been rescheduled for Wed., Jan. 13

4:30 p.m. Laquey vs. Green Ridge

6 p.m. Tuscumbia vs. Stoutland

7:30 Jamestown vs. Cole Camp

The Stover Russellville contest will be played at a later date.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Slater 53, Northwest 33

The Slater Wildcats defeated Northwest 53-33 Thursday on the consolation side of the Otterville Basketball Tournament bracket.

Northwest was outscored 11-2 in the second quarter and trailed 23-12 at halftime.

Slater’s Kreighton Tyler led all scorers with 15 points. Connor Tichenor and Daniel Blaylock led Northwest scorers with 7 points each.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Smithton 48, Northwest 37

The Smithton Tigers held Northwest to 3 points in the first quarter and went on to win 48-37 in a consolation game at the Otterville Basketball Tournament Thursday.

Northwest’s Hannah Gregory scored a game-high 17 points. Emily Dunnavant led Smithton’s offense with 9 points.

Lincoln 52, Slater 49

Lincoln’s girls basketball team won third place in Otterville’s Basketball Tournament on Thursday with a 52-49 victory over Slater.

Breanna White scored a game-high 20 points for Slater. Lincoln’s offense was led by Paige Bybee’s 18 points.

Lincoln led by one at halftime and going into the final quarter before outscoring the Wildcats 16-14 to seal the victory.
