The Sedalia Bombers got all the offense they needed in the seventh inning, beating Chillicothe 2-1 on Tuesday.
With the bases loaded and one out in the inning, a throwing error brought in Alex Del Rio with the game’s first run. Zach Lavy then drew a bases-loaded walk to force in Landon Mason.
The Mudcats answered with a run in their half of the inning when Josh Ethier hit an RBI double, but that is all they got off the Bombers pitching staff. Leland Tilley came on to work the eighth and worked around a one-out single. Christopher Mancha came on to pitch the ninth and the Mudcats put the winning run on with no out thanks to a walk and a single and moved those runners into scoring position with a sacrifice, but Mancha struck out the next two men he faced to end the game.
Justin Murphy started for the Bombers and worked seven innings, giving up seven hits and striking out one.
Del Rio went 3 for 4 at the plate.
The Bombers will host Chillicothe on Wednesday.
