KROENKE REACHES MILESTONE
A Lincoln Cardinal reached a high-flying milestone last week.
Lincoln junior Boone Kroenke scored his 1,000th point in a road game against the Tipton Cardinals Wednesday Jan. 27.
With the shot, Kroenke became the 19th boys basketball player from Lincoln to achieve the mark, and the first since Jason Culpepper in 2008.
Culpepper, who now coaches the Tipton Lady Cardinals, announced the achievement to the crowd.
Boone scored 255 points in his freshmen season, 544 points in his sophomore year, and recorded his one thousandth point after just eleven games played in his junior season.
The Lincoln Cardinals won the game 80-52. They were led by Kroenke with 24 points on five 3-pointers.
“I’m really happy for Boone, it is a great reward for his hard work to score 1,000 points,” said head coach Tyler Burke. “He nearly had it the night before, and it really is a team achievement.”
