Lincoln High ballplayer signs with SFCC

Lincoln High School senior Corbin Mertgen committed to play baseball at State Fair Community College. Mertgen is a right-handed pitcher for the Cardinals.

Corbin is the son of Bill and Kim Mertgen.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Otterville 51, Stover 41

Garrett Lynn and Franklin Oswald each scored 16 points to lead Otterville over Stover 51-41.

Jake Neal had 12 points for the Eagles.

Otterville opens district play next Monday as the No. 1 seed in Class 1 District 8.

Concordia 45, Orrick 35

Concordia trailed 14-11 at halftime but came back to defeat Orrick 45-35 Tuesday.

A 22-point fourth quarter elevated the Orioles over their opponent.

Jordan Schlueter led Concordia with 17, scoring 12 points in the final quarter.

GIRLS

La Monte 68, Cole Camp 62

A 23-point first quarter lifted the La Monte Lady Vikings over Cole Camp 68-62.

La Monte was outscored in every quarter but the first.

Madison Harris led the Lady Vikings with a game-high 29 points.

Bailey Heimsoth scored 25 points for Cole Camp. MacKenze Gudde added 14.

Stover 52, Otterville 48

Stover outlasted Otterville 52-48 Tuesday night after trailing at halftime.

Ashley Schroeder led Stover with 17 points, five assists and six steals.

Mallory Uptegrove scored 14 for Stover and Jensen Bauer added 11.

Dalanney Stone led Otterville with 15 points.
