The Sedalia Bombers got their second straight doubleheader sweep Wednesday with a 4-1 and 6-3 win against the Joplin Outlaws at Day Field at Liberty Park.
The Bombers got on the board first in game one when Jonathan Ramon scored on a balk with the bases loaded.
Sedalia got insurance runs in the sixth. Chance McMullin and Travis Tokarek scored on separate wild pitches and Hunter Leeper singled in Jack Mercer to make it 4-0.
Joplin’s Tyler Johnson singled in Colton Krokroskia to make it 4-1 in the seventh, but Leland Tilley got the next three batters to strikeout, fly out and ground out to end the game.
Ryan Lee earned the win by pitching six scoreless innings. He allowed five hits, struck out six and walked four.
In game two, the Bombers scored four of their six runs in the first inning.
Jarod Perry singled in Stewart Nelson, Perry scored on a Trey Harris double, Harris came around to score on a Ramon double and Ramon scored when Del Rio doubled.
The Outlaws scored in the second inning on a walk with the bases loaded and added a second run on a Chase Watt sacrifice fly, but they didn’t score again until the seventh inning on a fielder’s choice.
Sedalia took a 6-2 lead in the third inning when Ramon hit a two-run home run.
James Ball closed out the game by allowing one run on one hit in the final two innings.
Brady Womacks allowed two runs on three hits in three innings. He struck out three and walked four. Tilley pitched two scoreless innings of relief.
The Bombers will play at Ozark at 7 p.m. today.
