Smith-Cotton girls golf took eighth out of 19 teams at Wednesday’s Crusader Invitational in New Bloomfield.
“We were lucky enough to play one of the state tournament golf courses from the back tees without the double par rule and we still shaved 30 shots off our previous best this year,” said Smith-Cotton coach Chris Guffey. “Lots of work to be done and we are not yet where we want to be as a team, but we took a major step forward.”
S-C had a team score of 417. Rock Bridge took first with a 334. Helias shot a 339 to take second.
Annie Guier led the Lady Tigers with a 96. Peyton Sharp carded a 98.
Taylor Fisher shot a personal best 110. Brooklyn Boeschen shot a 113 and Kelsey Sharp shot a 143.
S-C will be at the Marshall Tournament on Tuesday.
