The Tipton cross country team had two varsity runners place in the top-20 in a meet Saturday at Hermitage.
In the girls race, Aubrey Schuster placed 18th. In the boys race, Isaac Ashton was 13th.
“I was very pleased as we took home some medals from this meet as we were competing against a few loaded state ranked teams and last year’s 1a state champs (Hermitage),” said Tipton coach Brad Homan. “Overall, it was a great meet, but a very tough course with a brutal hill at the beginning. Despite the tough course, members on the team that finished their best times of the season were Caleb Moss, Madison Schuster, Jonathan Hanning, and Trevan Isaacs.”
Garred Oldham was 18th in the boys junior varsity race. Homan noted that Oldham’s solid times lately have earned him a spot on the varsity roster for the rest of the season.
Tipton will run at Moberly on Thursday.
