An SFCC Roadrunner Booster Club golf tournament raised nearly $4,000 for the men’s and women’s basketball programs Sept. 26 Indian Foothills Golf Course in Marshall.

A total of 19 teams of SFCC Roadrunners and supporters participated in the fundraiser.

“The money raised from the tournament goes directly back into our programs,” said Roadrunners head coach Kevin Thomas. “It helps us purchase equipment and aids in recruiting. It also helped us buy software for the new athletic website.”

Teams were separated into A and B flights. Winners were:

A flight — Darren Pannier, Dennis Paul and Alan Quattlebaum, first place, 54; and Eric Kuhlman, Dwayne Davis and Rick McCoy, second place, 57.

B flight — Ron Ditzfeld, Sam Ditzfeld and Justin Heinzler, first place, 62; and Dan Page, Brad Page and Steve Scheiner, second place, also 62.

“The golf tournament is a great time to meet our boosters and gain new members,” said Lady Roadrunners head coach Kevin Bucher. “This year there were two people at the tournament who are planning to become Booster Club members. We are very excited about that. I would like to thank the many sponsors, volunteers and participants who helped us put this event together. We greatly appreciate their effort.”
