Sedalia Speed sending 13 to regionals

The Sedalia Speed AAU track and field team had 13 athletes earn qualifications to regionals in Joplin.

Chance Johnson, Saige Peterson and Drake Peterson all qualified with their performances at the district meet in El Dorado, Kan. on Saturday.

Johnson won the high jump, long jump and triple jump. Saige won the 800. Drake took 10th in the 200.

The team had 10 others qualify for regionals for their results at the district meet at Belton High School on June 3.

Ephraim Schnieder won the long jump and 400 and took ninth in the 200.

Charlise Perez won the high jump, took second in the 1500 and sixth in shot put.

Brady Anderson took top honors in the high jump, ninth in the long jump and 15th in the 100.

Malacki Ehlers finished third in the 3000-meter run, 10th in the 1500 and 14th in the 800.

Kiley Sawyer competed in the high jump, 400 and 200, taking third, 12th and 14, respectively.

Ethan Moss came in third in the long jump, ninth in the 100 and 10th in the 200.

Caleb Bush qualified with a fourth place finish in the high jump, seventh place finish in the 80-meter hurdles and a 10th place finish in the 400.

Hannah Lauer took ninth in the long jump.

Caleb Ehlers finished ninth in the long jump, 15th in the 400 and 15th in the 200.

Blaine Sarabia rounds out the regional qualifiers after taking seventh in the 100, ninth in the long jump and 15th in the 200.
