KC man injured in crash

A Kansas City man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 7:40 p.m. Sunday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Shaun A. Sims, 18, of Sedalia, was driving east on U.S. Route 50 three-tenths of a mile before state Route D when he slowed and struck a deer in the roadway. 

A passenger in his vehicle, Cletus H. Lichte, 54, was taken by the Johnson County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center with minor injuries.

Reports indicate Lichte and Sims were both wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Woman hurt in Moniteau

A Holts Summit woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 2:40 p.m. Friday in Moniteau County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kia L. Buckner, 31, of Grandview, was driving west on U.S. Route 50 east of banner Quarry Road when she struck the rear of a stopped vehicle driven by Holly M. Jackson, 35.

Jackson was taken by Mid-Mo Ambulance District to Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City with minor injuries.

Reports indicate both drivers were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
