One seriously injured in Benton crash

A man was seriously injured in a crash at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Greg D. Kirby, 62, of Warsaw, was driving south on U.S. Route 65, north of West Dam Access Road, when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, crossing over northbound lanes and striking a rock embankment, causing it to overturn.

Kirby suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital in Columbia by University of Missouri Air Ambulance.

One injured in Johnson crash

A man was injured in a crash at 11:17 a.m. Tuesday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a vehicle was sitting unoccupied due to a flat tire facing east on Northwest 400th Road, west of Northwest 171st Road, when an eastbound vehicle driven by Peyton W. Duchesne, 21, of Warrensburg, overtook the vehicle, slowed and began to slide. Duchesne’s vehicle struck the parked vehicle, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Duchesne suffered minor injuries and was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg by private vehicle.
