Arrests

Oct. 20

11:02 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft where management reported a theft by an employee. The suspect was contacted and admitted to stealing lottery tickets from the business. Angel Escobar, 21, of the 500 block of West Fifth Street, was arrested for stealing.

Oct. 21

Noon: An officer responded to a business in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to an assault that had just taken place. An employee had been injured by an unknown female. The employee had confronted the suspect, physically removed her from the store, and told her to not return. The suspect then returned to the store a short time later and punched the employee several times, knocking them to the floor. The suspect was later located. Christina Beamon, 21, of the 1100 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested for first-degree burglary and felony third-degree assault.

Oct. 22

9:56 a.m.: Officers responded to the 2700 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of trespassing. Christopher R. Bennett, 28, was arrested for first-degree trespassing.

Oct. 23

The Sedalia Police Department served a drug-related search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of South Lamine Avenue. Upon making entry, officers located and detained three adult subjects in the residence without incident. A search of the residence resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, packaging materials and drug paraphernalia. Shamakeith D. Taylor, 37, was arrested for manufacturing/distribution of a controlled substance within 2,000 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.

Incidents

Oct. 18

3:02 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 2500 block of Bristol Lane regarding property damage. Someone had thrown a rock through a window of a residence, causing approximately $320 worth of damages to the window and blinds.

Oct. 22

10:24 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of East 14th Street for a report of property damage. The complainant stated they came to the residence at 10 a.m. and found the front door had been forced open. The estimated value of the damage was $250.
