Incidents

Oct. 26

6:48 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 1900 block of West Main Street for a missing person report. The caller advised their 16-year-old son had fled the area trying to evade them. The juvenile was entered as a missing person (runaway) and foul play was not suspected.

8:20 p.m.: Officers responded to a found property call in the 1100 block of West Third Street where a black, semi-automatic handgun was found in a backyard.

9:09 p.m.: Sedalia police were notified by University Hospital in Columbia of a sexual assault which had occurred in Sedalia. Information was collected that indicated the rape occurred in the evening hours of Oct. 24.

Oct. 24

2:24 a.m.: Deputies observed vehicle plates attached to the rear of a vehicle that they did not belong to in the area of state Route HH and Post Oak Road. As deputies made contact with the driver of the vehicle deputies had several subjects run from them. Deputies, with the assistance of a Sedalia Police Department K9 unit, started tracking the subjects and located a cellphone.
