An open house will be hosted for all veterans from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the Whiteman House, 623 W. 24th St. The Whiteman House is where Lt. George A, Whiteman lived and was raised. Whiteman Air Force Base is named after him. The guest speaker is Whiteman’s aunt Mildred, portrayed by Kathleen Boswell, of Sedalia.
