S-C’s Beebe selected for scholars academy

Smith-Cotton High School student Taylor Beebe has been selected to attend the Missouri Scholars Academy June 7-27 at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Beebe, who will be a junior in the 2015-16 school year, said she “is honored to have been selected to attend this academy and experience all it has to offer.” She also is looking forward to meeting other students from across the state.

According to its website (moscholars.org), “The Missouri Scholars Academy is a three-week academic program for 330 of Missouri’s gifted students who are ready to begin their junior year in high school. … The program is based on the premise that Missouri’s gifted youth must be provided with special opportunities for learning and personal development in order for them to realize their full potential.”
