Melvin LeRoy Duffe


DAVENPORT, Iowa — Melvin LeRoy Duffe, age 84, of Moscow, IA, died on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport, IA.

Melvin was born August 30, 1931 to Roy and Hannah (Tuttle) Duffe in Moscow, IA. He graduated from Wilton High School in 1949 and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Melvin farmed in Cedar County and was later a deputy sheriff in Benton County, MO.

He was a member of the Wilton Masonic Lodge #167 AF & AM. He enjoyed woodworking.

There will be no visitation or service.

Melvin is survived and lovingly remembered by his daughter Rhea (Steve) Feathers of Murfreesboro, TN and his son Kenneth (Joy) Duffe of Las Vegas, NV, 3 grandchildren and his sister Janet (Lyle) Marolf of Moscow, IA. He is also survived by his companion Naomi Birkhofer of Moscow, IA..

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Sherrill Swindell, his son Brian Keith LeRoy Duffe and his brother Leo Duffe.
