Smithton pedestrian killed in Pettis County accident

Jay L. Bone, 60, of Smithton was killed at 11:16 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in a Pettis County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Bone was struck by a northbound 2005 Peterbilt truck driven by Brandon J. Knox, 18, of Hughesville, who was driving north in the 17000 block of Missouri Route O.

Bone was pronounced dead on scene by paramedic Michael Hughes and was transported by the Pettis County Coroner to Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.

Sedalia man injured in ATV rollover

Jason A. England, 38, of Sedalia suffered moderate injuries at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in a Pettis County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, England was driving a 2024 Predator Ghost ATV east in the 28000 block of Missouri Highway U when he lost control, overturned and was ejected.

He was wearing a seat belt, and was transported by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center.
