Algae bloom keeps Spring Fork closed

Posted

The City of Sedalia announced that Spring Fork Lake would remain closed until at least July 15.

The closure, which started in June, is due to the continued presence of a potentially hazardous algae bloom on the lake. The extension was announced after an evaluation determined it was in the best interest of public health for the lake to remain closed.

The City plans to continue evaluating the condition of the lake regarding the algae bloom to best determine a re-opening date for public recreational use.
