8:46 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1300 block of East Fifth Street for a report of an assault. The victim reported that a neighbor known to him came onto his property and began beating him. The victim sustained several injuries but refused treatment. The suspect fled the area and was not located. A charge of third-degree assault is being referred to the Pettis County prosecutor.
