This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Oct. 20

1:58 p.m.: Clinton Tyler Clough, 34, of the 1900 block of South Harrison Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue regarding shoplifting. Officers identified Clough through photographs and made contact with him at his home. He was advised of his rights and agreed to a field interview. He was issued a summons for shoplifting. 

Oct. 21

10:27 p.m.: David Michael Reed, 38, of the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after a vehicle stop for failing to maintain a lane. It was determined Reed was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released with a charge of driving while intoxicated - drugs. 

Oct. 23

9:22 p.m.: Jose Luis Matacua, 36, of the 500 block of Wilkerson Street, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to South Grand Avenue and West Main Street for a hit-and-run accident. The caller said they'd been hit by another vehicle that drove off. Using the information the caller provided, the officer was able to locate the suspect vehicle and the suspect. Matacua admitted to driving his vehicle but then denied not stopping. A computer check revealed he had a revoked driving status and no bond warrant for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Pettis County. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked on his warrant and placed on a 24-hour hold for charges of leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license. 

Oct. 24

6:24 p.m.: Justin R. June, 28, of the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a possible domestic assault in progress. The victim and suspect were still on scene. June was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of fourth-degree domestic assault. 

10:09 p.m.: Ashley Nicole Barton, 21, of the 1300 block of South Lamine Avenue, was arrested after being stopped for a headlight out in the area of West 16th Street and South Beacon Avenue. It was determined that the driver was intoxicated by drugs and the driver and passenger were in possession of felony drugs and misdemeanor marijuana. Both were placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail. The driver was being held for driving while intoxicated - drugs, failure to register a motor vehicle, failure to keep financial responsibility, drug possession - synthetic narcotic, and marijuana possession. Passenger Jayden K. Admire, 18, of the 1300 block of South Lamine Avenue, was arrested for drug possession - synthetic narcotic and drug possession - marijuana.

Incidents

Oct. 22

12:10 p.m.: An officer met a victim in the police department lobby who reported her boyfriend physically assaulted her, causing injury. The victim refused medical treatment and charges against the suspect are being submitted for third-degree domestic assault. 

4:39 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a reported theft. The suspect left the store with a cart full of items without paying and pushed an employee who went to intervene. There is video footage of the crime. 

Oct. 24

9:57 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of South Missouri Avenue for a theft report. They gathered the necessary information and generated a report. Items stolen were valued at $500.

12:08 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue for a report of stealing. The reporting party stated that a white male stole a roll of wiring valued at $1,000. Another white male and a black female could be seen assisting. They left the area in a black Chevy Aveo. The suspects have not been located.
