This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 22

753 p.m.: Alicia A. Maguire, 39, of the 800 block of East Sixth Street, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop near West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue. Two subjects were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. McGuire was arrested for drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Robert Lee Brandcamp Jr., 41, of the 800 block of East Sixth Street, was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Sept. 5

7:52 p.m.: Shania L. Claxton, 27, of the 2000 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Claxton was taken into custody for domestic assault and then assaulted officers during the arrest. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of resisting arrest and fourth-degree domestic assault.

Incidents

Sept. 4

5:58 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Barrett Avenue for the report of property damage. Homeowners returned from vacation and discovered a person had backed into their fence line. That person was identified and both parties agreed to handle it civilly.

Sept. 5

12:21 a.m.: Pettis County Joint Communications informed the Sedalia Police Department that the Pettis County Sheriff's Office was in pursuit of a vehicle and was requesting mutual aid. Officers with the SPD were able to deploy stop sticks near South Harding Avenue and East Boonville Street. Sheriff's Office deputies were able to take the individual into custody.

10:28 a.m.: An officer responded to the 600 block of East 12th Street in reference to property damage. Property management explained two windows had been shot with a BB gun, causing damage. A suspect has not been identified.

1:38 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 100 block of Rebar Road in reference to a theft. Management advised two individuals came into the store and stole two fountain drinks and two snack items. The suspects have not been identified.

5:41 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 2400 block of South Quincy Avenue in reference to property damage. The caller said his tire had been slit and estimated it would cost $200 to replace it. No arrests have been made.

Arrests

Sept. 5

10:31 a.m.: Lori L. Stepp, 39, of Emma, was arrested in Saline County for possession of a controlled substance. She was transported to the Saline County Sheriff's Department and released.

10:44 a.m.: Christopher L. Shepherd, 53, of Houstonia, was arrested in Saline County for possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Saline County Sheriff's Department and released.

8:44 p.m.: Kevin J. Olson, 62, of Warsaw, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.
