The Sedalia Business Women will host a Candidate Forum featuring the State 2026 Primary Election candidates from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the City Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 200 S. Osage Ave.
SBW has previously hosted three Candidate Forums: one in 2024 for the Pettis County Commission race; one in 2025 for the City Council; and one in 2026 for the Mayoral election. This will be the first time for SBW to host a State Candidate Forum.
The forum will feature Sam Alexander (Republican) and Mike McCaffee (Democrat), who are running for Missouri State Senate District 28; Israel Baeza (Republican) and Rene Vance (Democrat), who are running for State Representative District 52; and Michael Walbom (Democrat), who is running for State Representative District 57. Matt Sergent (Republican), running for State Representative District 57, is unable to attend.
The candidates will each have two minutes to provide answers to pre-set questions based on topics of concern in Pettis County. The public is invited to attend the forum to hear the candidates speak and learn more about where they stand on issues of local interest.
