Sedalia Parks & Recreation has received a $500,000 grant to help revamp the Centennial Park Splash Pad and Pickleball Complex.

The $500,000 Land and Water Conservation Fund grant comes from the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Division of State Parks. Sedalia submitted one of 43 applications, 10 of which were sent on to National Parks.

The grant application was written and submitted by Assistant Director of Parks John Simmons.

“We are thrilled to receive this significant investment in Sedalia’s park,” said Amy Epple, Director of Sedalia Parks & Recreation. While we hate to see Centennial Pool go, we are excited about what the future holds and what this project will bring to Centennial Park here on the east side of Sedalia. The Splash Pad and Pickleball Complex will create new recreational opportunities for residents and visitors of all ages while ensuring the park continues serving our community for years to come.”

The project is slated to be completed by Oct. 31, 2028.
