Smith-Cotton boys soccer upsets Raymore-Peculiar in district opener

No. 6-seeded Smith-Cotton boys soccer defeated No. 3 Raymore-Peculiar 1-0 in the Class 4 District 6 quarterfinal round Saturday, Oct. 31, at Lee’s Summit West High School.

Senior Jose Reyes scored the game-winning goal in the 67th minute off an assist from senior Hayden Hilburn.

Hilburn also earned the shutout in the goal.

The Tigers (18-6) advance to play No. 2-seeded Lee’s Summit West in the semifinal round at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3.
