Sedalia/Pettis County Chapter of the NAACP

The Sedalia/Pettis County Chapter of the NAACP met for its monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 3at Lincoln Hubbard Apartments, 711 N. Osage Ave. 

The agenda items were as follows:

Juneteenth Celebration: The 2025 celebration will be hosted on Saturday, July 14, 2025, at Hubbard Park. The committee is currently planning next year's event. 

A half page ad was paid to the Lincoln Hubbard School Reunion Committee for a souvenir booklet. The school reunion is scheduled for the weekend of Aug. 2 and probably will be the last reunion, due to the age and health issues of the alumni.

The Pettis County Democrats Club is hosting an ice cream social on Thursday, July 25 at the First Untied Methodist Church on Thompson Boulevard.

Habitat for Humanity is looking for board members. If interested, its meetings are hosted the third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church. 

The Native American Pow Wow is scheduled for Saturday, July 20 at the Missouri State Fairgrounds.  

Sedalia City Council highlights were discussed.

The next NAACP meeting will be hosted on Wednesday, Aug. 7. The Sedalia/Pettis County Chapter of the NAACP meets the first Wednesday of each month at the Lincoln Hubbard Apartments in the "general area." The Executive meeting begins at 3 p.m. and the General Meeting at 3:30 p.m.
