Commission Report for the Week of July 22nd, 2024 to July 26th, 2024

July 22: The commission re-appointed Stanley Bohon to serve on the Boonslick Regional Library Board of Trustees for a four-year term running from July 1, 2024 and ending on June 30, 2028.

The Commission went into closed session pursuant to Rsmo 610.021(3) for discussions regarding personnel.

The Pettis County On-Site Wastewater (OSWW) working group held a follow-up meeting in the Commission Chambers to discuss potential changes to ordinances pertaining to lagoons, subdivisions, and permitting. Also present were: Recorder of Deeds Barbara Clevenger, Pettis County Health Center Environmental Public Health Specialists David Switzner, Pettis County Health Center Administrator and County Health Officer Malinda Nevels, and Landmann Title Company Owner Stephanie Wooldridge.

July 23: There was no quorum.

Western Commissioner Jim Marcum and Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza attended the Sedalia Area Healthcare Symposium at State Fair Community College

July 24: The Commission went into closed session pursuant to Rsmo 610.021(3) for discussions regarding personnel

The Commission held a conference call with Country Club Estates HOA President Daniel Youngblood and resident John Schwenk pertaining to HOA curb maintenance.

Citizen Larry Wessel discussed Wessel Road with Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza.

Western Commissioner Jim Marcum and Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza attended the Economic Development Sedalia-Pettis County board meeting.

July 25: The Commission had a meeting with Missouri State Public Defender Operations Director Jane Duncan and Area 15 District Defender James Gray and discussed the building lease that houses the public defenders. Also Present were: Auditor Beverly Dillon and Auditor Advisor Steve Cannon

The Commission had a meeting with Insurance Agent Joe Close regarding county property and casualty insurance. Also present were: Auditor Beverly Dillon, Auditor Advisor Steve Cannon, and Insurance Agent Tyler Schuber

The Great River Engineering Project Engineer Michael Teel and Engineer Richard Rhodes visited the Commission.

Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza attended the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce board meeting.

Western Commissioner Jim Marcum attended the Sedalia Shrine Club Award Banquet.

July 26: There was no quorum.

Western Commissioner Jim Marcum attended the Missouri Association of Counties (MAC) Transportation Steering Committee virtual orientation.

Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for Kempf’s Country Market.

Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza attended a virtual briefing with U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
